Application of Power Line Communication in Oil Extraction Systems
Wellhead electrical parameters are transmitted back along the power line, designed for scattered well sites and poor communication conditions.
System Architecture
This solution consists of two PD220 devices communicating point-to-point. The customer equipment (oil production platform) connects to the PD220 in the control room via RS232, while the oil extraction equipment inside the well connects to the PD220 carrier modem via RS485. Only one 300VDC cable links the control room and the wellhead extraction equipment.
