Power Line Communication Application for Agricultural Irrigation

Irrigation pump stations and valve control points are connected via a power-line carrier network to enable centralized, rotational irrigation scheduling.
System Architecture
This solution uses multiple PD380 power line carrier units to form a network for communication. The SCADA control program at the monitoring center communicates transparently with the remote carrier units to operate the irrigation machines. Each PD380 connects to the SCADA system, with one end linked via the carrier unit and RS485 interface to an irrigation machine. The site is powered by 380VAC.

Extend App
Three-phase three-wire or three-phase four-wire power line systems can directly connect to PD220 using only two wires for communication.
